Dr. Eiji Funakoshi earned his DDS degree at Kyushu Dental College in Kitakyushu, Japan; his certificate in periodontology at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts; and his MSD degree at the Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis, Indiana. He has had several academic appointments in periodontics at the above universities as well as at the Nihon University School of Dentistry in Tokyo, Japan, and Kagoshima University School of Dentistry in Kagoshima, Japan. He taught many years as a clinical professor at Kyushu University School of Dentistry and Fukuoka Dental College both in Fukuoka, Japan. Currently he is a clinical professor in periodontics at Kyushu Dental University in Kitakyushu, Japan. He is a fellow of the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, International Team for Implantology. He is currently a section chairman of the International Team for Implantology Section Japan, a member of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), the Japanese Society of Periodontology (JSP), the Japan Dental Association, and the Japanese Academy of Clinical Periodontology (JACP); past president and a founder of the JACP; and past executive board member of the JSP. Dr Funakoshi has published more than 50 publications in national and international journals and given more than150 presentations at national and international meetings. In 2009 he won the AAP Honorary Membership Award. In 2015 he was elected a board member of the ITI at the ITI Annual General Meeting in Istanbul on 25th, April, 2015.

Dr. Ellen attended New York University College of Dentistry, where she graduated as one of the youngest dentists in her graduating class and received a Most Promising Dentist Award. Following graduation, she completed a one-year residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. She values the importance of continuing education and the latest advancements in dentistry and regularly attends lectures and conferences, as well as conducts lectures for other dentists. She currently serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor and Co-Clinical Director at Full Mouth Rehabilitation Continuing Dental Education Program at NYU and lectures at Nova Southeastern University Continuing Education Department. Dr. Ellen is a Graduate and a Mentor at the Kois Center, which focuses on Evidence-Based Teaching for practicing dentists. She is a published author in the Peer-Reviewed Compendium Dental Magazine and continues to share her wealth of knowledge with practicing dentists across the country.

Having graduated from Istanbul University School of Dentistry in 1984, Engin Taviloglu continues his studies particularly on field of esthetic dentistry in his private practice in Istanbul-Tesvikiye. He has been lecturing in seminars, giving hands-on courses and performing live case demonstrations on esthetic dentistry and composite applications in particular. He is the author of AN ATLAS OF COMPOSITE APPLICATIONS and three DVDs ; “PRACTICAL INDIRECT COMPOSITE RESTORATIONS” , “COMPOSITE RESTORATIONS WITH SILICONE MATRIX IN ANTERIOR TOOTH FRACTURE” and ”DIRECT COMPOSITE VENEER APPLICATION” which are available from Quintessence Publishing Inc. in Turkish. Engin Taviloglu worked as a member of Executive Board for Turkish Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EDAD) for 19 years and continuously shares his cases and practical information about esthetic dentistry and particularly composite applications with many dentists in a social media group named “e-kompozit” which he has established on internet. Engin Taviloglu is married and has a son, speaks English and French and plays tenor saxophone. As an artist, he is interested in watercolor painting and many of his works take place in various collections. Being a former basketball player with a championship in Turkish 1st Basketball League, later a veteran tennis player with many prizes won in several tournaments, Taviloglu is currently involved in golfing with many championships and represents his country in both domestic and international model aircraft contests.

Dr Agliardi graduated with honors from the University of Milan in 1994, specializing in medicine and surgery. At the same university, he attained a specialization in maxillofacial surgery in 2000 and a specialization in orthodontics in 2005. Since 2009, Dr Agliardi has been in charge of the Special Rehabilitation Surgery department at the Department of Dentistry of IRCCS San Raffaele of Milan, and he is also a professor in the Special Rehabilitation Surgery Department at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. For over 15 years, he has been involved in the implant-prosthetic rehabilitation of compromised patients with tilted and zygomatic implants.

Dr. Eric Van Dooren attended the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, where he received his degree in dentistry in 1982. After graduating he opened a private practice in Antwerp, Belgium, which is limited to periodontics, fixed prosthodontics, and implants. Currently Dr. Van Dooren is a Visiting Professor at University of Liege ( Belgium) and University of Marseille. He is an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Dr. Van Dooren lectures nationally and internationally, mainly on esthetics, implants and esthetic periodontal surgery.

Evanthia Anadioti, DDS, MS, FACP, is associate professor of clinical restorative dentistry in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and founding director of the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a board director at the American College of Prosthodontists Education Foundation, and the incoming prosthodontic commissioner at the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Dr Anadioti has several publications in peer-reviewed journals and has received both local and national awards.

She lectures on Implant Dentistry worldwide, writes for several journals and holds positions on several editorial boards. Fazeela qualified from the Royal London in 1994, after which she continued her training in Oral Surgery before completing her Masters degree in Restorative Dentistry with Distinction. She is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology and is a tutor on the Diploma of Implant Dentistry at The Royal College of Surgeons of England. She is also a member of the Association of Dental Implantology and the British Association of Aesthetic Dentistry.

Dr. Florin Cofar attended University of Victor Babes, Timisoara, where he received his degree in dentistry in 2007. He is specialized in aesthetic interdisciplinary dentistry, working closely with other respected dentists in the field such as Christian Coachman, Eric van Dooren and Paulo Kano. He is one of the core members in the DSD group, working on most of the interdisciplinary clinical cases. Dr. France Lambert graduated from the University of Liege in Periodontology, where she continued to obtain a PhD in the same subject. Franck Renouard is graduated of the Dental University of Paris V in 1982. He was assistant of Jean-François Tulasne in the Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Team of Paul Tessier from 1983 to 1988 in Paris. He has published several articles and book chapters. He is author of 3 Text Books with Bo Rangert. The first one ” Risk Factors in Implant Dentistry: Simplified Clinical Analysis for predictable Treatment” was published in 10 languages. His new book, co-written with a professional pilot, is about Human Factors and medical errors. Dr. Setzer is Assistant Professor of Endodontics, and Director of the Predoctoral Endodontics Program and the Endodontic Clinic. He teaches endodontic courses/seminars in both the pre- and postdoctoral programs. After earning his dental and doctoral degrees the from Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany in 1995 and 1998, Dr. Setzer practiced in multidisciplinary practice until 2004. In 2006, Dr. Setzer completed his endodontic postgraduate training at the Department of Endodontics at Penn Dental Medicine, where he also received his Masters in Oral Biology in 2008 and his DMD degree 2010. His research interests include clinical detection, prognosis and assessment of periradicular pathology, in particular apical periodontitis, utilizing CBCT imaging and AI in Endodontics; outcome of Endodontic procedures, with a focus on endodontic surgery and endodontically treated teeth versus dental implants; and properties of endodontic instruments. Dr. Setzer is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and has lectures at national and international conferences.

As co-founder and director of Spear Education, Dr. Spear continues to be recognized as one of the premier educators in esthetic and restorative dentistry in the world. He earned his dental degree at University of Washington in 1979 and an M.S.D. in periodontal prosthodontics in 1982.

Dr. Spear has been recognized by numerous associations for his contributions to dentistry. In 1993, he was awarded the Christensen Award for Excellence in Restorative Education from the Chicago Dental Society. In 1995, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry presented him with a special award for having advanced the art and science of cosmetic dentistry in the U.S. In 1996, he received the Saul Schluger Memorial Award for Excellence in Diagnosis and Treatment Planning from the Seattle Study Club. In 2003, he and colleague Vincent G. Kokich were awarded the first-ever President’s Award for excellence in education from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.

In 2004, Dr. Spear earned the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Pacific Lutheran University, where he earned his undergraduate degree. In 2013, he was named Distinguished Alumnus for the University of Washington School of Dentistry. In 2018 he received the first ever Charles Pincus-Ronald Goldstein Lifetime Achievement Award in Esthetic Dentistry from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.

In addition to his work at Spear, Dr. Spear is an affiliate professor in the graduate prosthodontics program at the University of Washington. He and fellow Spear Resident Faculty member Dr. Greggory Kinzer maintain a private practice in Seattle limited to esthetics and fixed prosthodontics. Dr Frans P. G. M. van der Linden is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Orthodontics at Radboud University Nijmegen, the Netherlands. From 1962 until 1995, he held the position of Professor and Chairman of Orthodontics at the Radboud University Nijmegen. Dr Van der Linden has devoted his professional life to in incorporating basic and clinical research results into the theory and practice of orthodontics, and his long-lasting activities in research and teaching have been widely recognized. He is an internationally recognized lecturer and has published more than 200 papers and a number of books. His main contribution is a series of six textbooks on orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.

Gaetano Paolone, DDS, teaches conservative dentistry at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan and lectures for the master’s course in esthetics and restorative dentistry at the University of Bologna. He is also an associate researcher in operative dentistry at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil. Dr Paolone lectures widely in Italy and abroad and is the author and co-author of book chapters and many scientific articles. Gaia Rosenberg graduated in dentistry from University of Genoa in 2016. During her studies she became an apprentice of Jordi Manauta, which she is to this day. Galip Gürel, DDS, MSc, is the founder and honorary president of the Turkish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, a past president of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and a visiting professor at the New York University, Marseille Dental University, and Istanbul Yeditepe University. He received the 2014 Smigel Prize, which is granted biennially by New York University College of Dentistry to honor the best esthetic dentists in the world. Dr Gürel is the author of The Science and Art of Porcelain Laminate Veneers (Quintessence, 2003), which has been translated into 12 different languages. He is the editor-in-chief of Quintessence Magazine in Turkey and serves on the editorial boards for several journals.

Dr. DeWood is Executive Vice President of Spear Education. As one of the founding members of Spear, he directed Curriculum and Clinical Education for nearly a decade prior to joining in the launch of Spear Practice Solutions. Today, he splits time between teaching and consulting.

Dr. DeWood serves as an instructor in multiple Spear Workshops, including Facially Generated Treatment Planning, Occlusion in Clinical Practice, Advanced Occlusion, Sleep Medicine in the Dental Practice and a special focus workshop on temporomandibular disorder. Prior to his contributions at Spear, Dr. DeWood maintained a private restorative general practice with his wife and fellow Spear Resident Faculty member, Dr. Cheryl DeWood, in Pemberville, Ohio, before dedicating most of his time to teaching full time. With 40 years in general dentistry, he provides a unique perspective to the application of the dental principles taught at Spear. He has spent years focused on diagnosing and treating functional occlusal problems and TMD, and as part of that focus completed the craniofacial pain mini-residency at the University of Florida College of Dentistry in the early 1990s.

Dr. DeWood served as clinical director at The Pankey Institute from 2003 to 2008. He has held appointments as associate professor at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and assistant professor at the University of Toledo College of Medicine. He earned his D.D.S. from Case Western Reserve University in 1980 and an M.S. degree in biomedical sciences from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in 2004.

George A. Mandelaris, DDS, MS, is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a fellow in both the American and International College of Dentists. He has published more than 40 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and has authored eleven chapters in nine different textbooks. Dr Mandelaris is coeditor of Surgically Facilitated Orthodontic Therapy: An Interdisciplinary Approach (Springer, 2022) and serves as an editorial consultant for The International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry. He is a two-time recipient of the American Academy of Periodontology’s Clinical Research Award and the 2018 recipient of the Saul Schluger Memorial Award for Clinical Excellence in Diagnosis and Treatment Planning. Dr Mandelaris maintains a private practice in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. George Tysowsky serves as Head of Global Training & Education, and Senior Vice President of Technology and Professional Relations for Ivoclar, Inc. where he is responsible for Research & Development and Education activities for North American operations. He is as an adjunct faculty member at the SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Dentistry and the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, which awarded him its Achievement Award. He is also an Honorary Member of the American College of Prosthodontics. He has served as a board member of the Academy of General Dentistry Foundation, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American College of Prosthodontics Foundation, and has also served as the Chairman of the Board for the Oral Health America Foundation. Dr. Tysowsky presently serves on the Deans Councils of Harvard University, AT School of Dentistry, University of Illinois, Chicago and previously at the Univ of Buffalo School of Dentistry and Univ of West Virginia. Dr. Gerard Chiche is the Director of the Center for Esthetic and Implant Dentistry at Georgia Regents University, College of Dental Medicine in Augusta, Georgia. In 2009 he became the first recipient of the Thomas P. Hinman Endowed Chair in Restorative Dentistry at his university, sponsored by the Hinman Dental Society. He is a Past President of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He has authored two textbooks entitled Esthetics of Anterior Fixed Restorations and Smile Design – A guide for Clinicians, Ceramists and Patients.

Dr. Gómez is Spaniard and graduated from the University of Tübingen, Germany, in both dentistry (DDS), and four years later in medicine (MD). He has received three national awards in the contest “Young Scientists“ in Germany. Upon graduation in dentistry, he completed his doctoral thesis (PhD) in implantology at the same University.

For the past 25 years, Dr. Gómez has been in tight contact with the dental industry, such as Sirona, Espe, Discus Dental, Philips, WhiteSmile, Kavo-Kerr and other companies. He worked in the headquarters of Ivoclar-Vivadent in Liechtenstein for three years being responsible for the scientific communication in Latin America.

In the last 20 years, Dr. Gómez has held over 400 lectures, seminars and hands-on workshops in 42 different countries all over the world. In addition, he is also author of several publications in different languages. He received his training in esthetic dentistry in Los Angeles and San Francisco. After some years in the most prestigious dental offices of Germany, Dr. Gomez finally moved to Spain in 2004, where he runs his dental office in Valencia, focusing on Esthetic Dentistry and Implants.

He is the former General Secretary of the European Society of Esthetic Dentistry (ESED), which is now called European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry (ESCD).

Since 2013 he is the Director of the Continuing Education Program “Specialist in Esthetic Dentistry” of the European Institute of Dental Education (EIDE), which is by now held in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Dubai.

Gianluca Paniz achieved his dental degree (DDS) at the University of Padova (Italy) in 2002. He attended TUFTS University (Boston, USA) for more than three years (2003-2007) and achieved the Certificate of Advanced Education in Prosthodontics, the Master of Science and the Certificate of Advanced Education in Esthetic Dentistry. At the moment Gianluca Paniz is Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry at TUFTS University and Visiting Professor in the Department of Implantology at the University of Padova. Giano Ricci graduated with a degree in medicine and specialized in dentistry at the University of Florence. In 1974, he obtained his Master’s of Science in Periodontology from Boston University. He is an author of numerous publications in the periodontal field and author of Diagnosis and Periodontal Therapy (Quintessence, 2014). Dr. Tabanella is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and active member of the Italian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He graduated from the University of Southern California-Los Angeles-USA where he obtained the Certificate in Periodontics as well as the Master of Science in Craniofacial Biology. He has been awarded “Outstanding Periodontal Graduate Student Research in Surgery and Implantology” by the California Society of Periodontists for his study on bone remodeling. He is the scientific coordinator of the International Implant Conference, director of O.R.E.C.-Oral Reconstruction and Education Center (WWW.TABANELLAOREC.COM), and reviewer and author of original articles published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Tabanella lectures in Europe, Asia, Middle East, South Africa as well as in the US on implant and periodontal surgery, aesthetic management in dental implantology and periodontal therapy, peri-implant bone remodeling, soft and hard tissue reconstruction around natural teeth and implants as well as the re-treatment of failures. His research focuses on tissue regeneration and augmentation with different bone and soft graft materials, peri-implant and dental bone loss, novel protocols for the repair of ailing dental implants. He maintains a private practice in Rome (Italy) where he also holds advanced courses and live surgeries on tissue regeneration and re-treatment of implant failures for a limited numbers of participants.

I was born in Siena in 1984 and I live in Montepulciano, a beautiful small town in Tuscany. After graduation magna cum laude in Dentistry, I started focusing my daily work on adhesive direct and indirect restorations, with a particular love for direct anterior ones. I’ work with prof. Simone Grandini, and I’m also a Visiting Professor at his II level Master in Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics, in the University of Siena. I work in private practice in Cortona in dr. Andrea Fabianelli’s office focusing on restorative and endodontics. I am an active member of the Italian Society of Restorative Dentistry (SIDOC), and I was a contributor to the books “La Protesi fissa con margini di chiusura verticali” and “La Protesi Implantare : vantaggi, problemi e soluzioni pratiche” by Ezio Bruna and Andrea Fabianelli, ed.Elsevier. Dr. Graziano D. Giglio is a board-certified prosthodontist focusing on aesthetics and implant dentistry to enhance the quality of life for his patients. Trained at the university of Lyon, Dr Hadi Antoun, dental surgeon, holds a Speciality Certificate in Oral Biology and Periodontology and a postgraduate degree in Surgical and Prosthetic Implantology from the university of Paris VII. He has taught at the Implantology department of the university of Paris VII as a visiting practitioner. He is regularly invited to conferences and is involved in clinical research principally related to immediate loading and bone grafting. In addition to national and international publications, he is the author of a book on sinus grafts and has co-written a book on bone grafts.
