Simon graduated from the University of Sheffield and subsequently became a Clinical Lecturer in Oral Surgery, being responsible for the training of undergraduate dental students. He was awarded Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2010. He later studied at the School of Law, King’s College London and gained a Master’s degree in Medical Ethics and Law. Simon was appointed a Specialist Registrar in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology at Guy’s Hospital London in 2014. He has an interest in CBCT and dento-legal disputes, and regularly teaches undergraduates and postgraduates.

Herr Stefan Sander ist ausgebildeter Zahntechniker und seit 1999 Zahntechnikermeister. Er war 11 Jahre im Meisterprüfungsausschuss der Handwerkskammer Hannover und 10 Jahre lang Betriebsleiter eines gewerblichen Dentallabors. Hier war er für die Bereiche Betriebsleitung, Abrechnung, Mitarbeiterführung, Organisation, Kundenakquise und -betreuung zuständig. Seit 2009 ist Herr Sander Inhaber einer Firma mit den Schwerpunkten zahntechnische Abrechnung und Unternehmensberatung. Als Dozent und Referent bietet er neben Onlineschulungen auch Fachseminare für Zahnärztekammern, Handwerkskammern und Meisterschulen an und schult speziell Zahnärzte und Praxispersonal in der gesamten Bandbreite der zahntechnischen Abrechnung nach BEL, beb 97 und BEB Zahntechnik.

After graduating in Dental Technology, Stefano Inglese has always shown interest in the exact aesthetic-functional reproduction of dental restorations. Thanks to countless courses and work experiences abroad with the best masters, technicians and clinicians, he has perfected his technique and his precision in aesthetics, function and biological integration. He is the owner of a dental laboratory in Pescina (Aq). He is an Oral Design member and an active member of the IAED. Stefano Inglese writes for national and international magazines in the sector, such as Quint. of Dental Technology as well as for Quint. Zahntechnik. He is co-author with Dr. Sclar in the book “Interdisciplinary Treatment Planning II”. He is an international speaker and collaborates with various clinicians from all over the world. He is the author of the book “Aesthetic Dental Strategies” available in Italian, English, Chinese and Russian.

Qualified in dentistry from Guy’s Hospital in 1985 and as a Specialist in Oral Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons of England, in 2000. Dr Barter has 37 years’ experience in oral surgery with 30 years involvement in clinical and academic implant dentistry in both private hospital practice and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a private clinic. Dr Barter has previously assisted in the running of the MClinDent in Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Institute London, for over ten years, and the DClinDent Programme at Queen Mary’s University, London for over five years. He is a Fellow of the ITI, a past Chairman of the UK and Ireland Section and has served on ITI international committees and consensus conferences. Dr Barter has published in refereed scientific journals and the dental press and has written several book chapters, is the co-author of ITI Treatment Guide 9 – Implant Therapy in the Geriatric Patient (Quintessence Publishing) and has been an editor of the ITI Treatment Guide series since TG11. He has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally.

Theodore Eliades graduated from the School of Dentistry, University of Athens, Greece, and completed the Orthodontic postgraduate program of the Ohio State University, USA, where he also earned a Master of Science degree. He obtained a Doctorate in Medical Sciences from the University of Athens, School of Medicine, and a PhD in Biomaterials from the University of Manchester, UK. He was Associate Professor in the Department of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, from 2005 until 2011, when he assumed the post of Professor and Director of the Clinic of Orthodontics Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Since 1996 he has maintained a private practice in Athens, Greece.

Dr Thomas J Hilton, DMD, MS, earned his undergraduate degree at Bucknell University, BA (Chemistry). He attended Dental School University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, DMD. Dr Hilton had Postgraduate Training USAF Two-Year AEGD, Certificate. He attended OHSU School of Dentistry, MS (Biomaterials and Biomechanics). He holds board certification with theAmerican Board of General Dentistry. He previously served as Director of the USAF Dental Investigation Service from 1996-1999 and co-director of USAF 2-year AEGD residency, Wilford Hall Medical Center from 1990-1995. Dr Hilton uses practice-based clinical dental research to provide data that informs the evidence-basis for dental practice.

Tiziano Tealdo, DDS, MS, CDT, obtained his certificate in dental laboratory technology in 1984. Dr Tealdo graduated in dentistry at the University of Turin, Italy in 1991. At the same university, he earned his postgraduate degree in oral surgery in 1993. Dr Tealdo obtained the university certificate in implantology at the University of Aix-Marseille, France, in 1998. From 1998 to 2000 he completed Dr Carlo Tinti’s postgraduate periodontal program, whichfocused on reconstruction of hard and soft tissue in conjunction with implant surgery. Dr Tealdo’s interest in implant-prosthetic therapy led him to attend the Brånemarkkliniken and the Brånemark Osseointegration Center, Gothenburg, Sweden; the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Ümea, Sweden; and the Malo Clinic in Lisbon, Portugal. Since 1997 he has been in charge of the Implant Division in the Department of Implant and Prosthetic Dentistry of Genoa University, Italy. Currently, at the same university, he is professor of Prosthodontics. Dr Tealdo is a member of the International College of Prosthodontists

I’m an author, blogger, and manual and movement therapist. My goal is to help people move better and feel better. I have completed training programs in the Feldenkrais Method and Rolfing. I used to be an attorney.

I write and speak about science that is relevant to manual and movement therapists, such as bodyworkers, physical therapists, chiropractors, personal trainers, yoga instructors, athletic coaches, etc.

Most of the positive feedback I receive about my writing is that it synthesizes ideas from different fields and makes complex material easy to understand and apply.

Todd Schoenbaum, DDS, MS, is a Professor at the Dental College of Georgia, where serves as the Coordinator for Implant Education and Related Research, training residents and students in implant restorations and clinical research. He was previously full Clinical Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Director of UCLA Continuing Education. Dr Schoenbaum has published over 50 papers and 2 textbooks, and he is the recipient of the scientific writing award from the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry. He has a master’s in clinical research from the UCLA School of Medicine, and he has been invited to present his clinical and scientific work at conferences worldwide.

Tomaso Vercellotti, MD, DDS is the inventor of Piezosurgery and the developer of several piezoelectric surgical protocols, which have been published in numerous prestigious publications. Dr Vercellotti is Founder and International Chairman of the International Piezoelectric Bone Surgery Academy (IPA), Honorary Professor and Faculty at the University College of London Eastman Dental Institute, and Honorary Member of the Schluger-Ammons Study Club. He is an active member of numerous professional associations and the 2005 recipient of the Andi Award from the Italian Dental Association (AIO) for scientific and cultural merit. He has authored some of the most important scientific and clinical studies on piezoelectric bone surgery as well as the book Essentials in Piezosurgery: Clinical Advantages in Dentistry (Quintessence, 2009). Dr Vercellotti has dedicated over 30 years to the rehabilitation of complex cases and currently maintains a private practice specializing in periodontology and implantology in Genoa, Italy.

Hans Pancherz, DDS, Odont. Dr. (PhD), received his dental and orthodontic education at the School of Dentistry, University of Lund in Malmö, Sweden. He became a certied specialist in Orthodontics in 1974. In 1976 he finished his PhD thesis on “Long-term effects of activator (Andresen appliance) treatment”. From 1975 to 1985 he was Associate Professor at the Orthodontic Department, University of Lund. In 1985 he was appointed Chair Professor at the University of Giessen, Germany, where he served from 1985 until 2005. Professor Pancherz has published 140 scientic articles, 72 of which deal with the Herbst appliance. He has been invited as lecturer at more than 200 national and international conferences all over the world and has received numerous awards and honors. At the Dental Faculty in Hong Kong, Professor Pancherz served as Honorary Professor in 1996 and 1997 and as Visiting Professor in 2007. He was Keith Godfrey Visiting Professor in Sydney in 1997. Furthermore, he acted as External Examiner for the Masters in Orthodontics in Hong-Kong in 1996 and 1997 and in Sydney in 1997 and 2006. Moreover, he is Editorial Board Member of several orthodontic journals. Professor Pancherz is particularly interested in clinical research, focusing on functional appliances and their effects on growth, electromyography of the masticatory muscles and long-term evaluation of dentofacial orthopedic interventions.

Verena Gesing, physiotherapist and manual therapist, has been intensively involved with the topic of “trigger points” for many years, both practically and theoretically. She is co-editor and co-author of the reference book “Handbuch Physiotherapie”. Furthermore, she regularly publishes articles in professional journals. Verena Gesing works as an instructor in “Physiotherapy” and as a professional freelance physiotherapist.

Vincent Ronco, DDS, completed his dental degree at the University of Paris before completing postgraduate training in periodontics and implantology from the University of Liège, Belgium. He maintains a practice limited to periodontics and implantology in Paris, France.

Dr Musella has been working as a prosthodontist/dental technologist for an extensive period of time and is particulary dedicated to the fabrication of hghly esthetic dental prostheses. Obtaining a bachelo’s degree in dentistry did not put an end to Dr Musella’s passion for prosthodontics, which he continues to practice, using the newest and most relevant technologies. Due to his rich and complete path of studies, Dr Musella is able to achieve a unique, added-value dental technique, which he routinely practices in his daily profession. This text is the by-product and synthesis of the combination of the two beautiful professions that are dentistry and prosthodontics.

Wendy Jenkins, BSc, and MSc candidate, has worked extensively to merge the fields of nutrition and environmental science. She has done this primarily through her study of the interaction between diet, health and environmental sustainability. Her work has led her to the promotion of plant based foods in both an academic setting and through recipe development. In her previous studies at the University of Guelph in the Environmental Biology honors program in Canada and her current postgraduate studies in nutrition at Wageningen University, The Netherlands, she has worked with the aim of maximizing both health and sustainability of dietary decisions. She has also worked under the guidance of chef Sara Harrel, owner of Veg Company and developer of the certificate in Vegetarian Culinary Arts at George Brown College Centre for Culinary Arts, Toronto, Canada. Through this work Wendy has been able to further develop her skills in plant based cuisine and recipe development, providing the tools to create healthy, sustainable and enjoyable food.

William E. Mason, DDS, MS, received his DDS and MS from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1981 and 1984, respectively, and has since managed a private practice specializing in periodontics and dental implants. Since 1991, he has placed over 5,000 dental implants. Dr Mason teaches periodontal residents as a member of the Dean’s Faculty in the Graduate Periodontics Clinic at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and regularly demonstrates surgery to the dental hygiene students at Delta College. Dr Mason has presented lectures to numerous dental societies throughout Michigan and has published articles in several professional journals. He has also developed three dental instruments and patented one of these—the Palatal Anesthesia Device (PAD)—to help alleviate the pain of palatal injections. He markets all three instruments on masterdentalonline.com.

Yair Sharav, DMD, MS, is a professor in the Department of Oral Medicine at The Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Dental Medicine in Jerusalem. Dr Sharav is responsible for establishing the Orofacial Pain Clinic at Hadassah Medical Center in 1974—the first of its kind in Israel—and directing it as well as the Center for Pain Research at The Hebrew University for over 25 years. He has also served variously as a past dean of the School of Dental Medicine at The Hebrew University and a former head of the Department of Oral Diagnosis, Oral Medicine, and Radiology at Hadassah Medical Center. Internationally, he was a visiting professor at Toronto University and a visiting scientist at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr Sharav’s work has contributed widely to the knowledge and understanding of the diagnosis, treatment, and mechanisms of orofacial pain.

Dr Yoh Sawatari is a Professor of Clinical Surgery and the Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Program. He has over 16 years of facial trauma experience at a level one trauma center at one of the largest community hospitals in the country. He has trained countless surgeons through the residency program, his national and international lectures, and his numerous peer-reviewed publications and chapters. He is considered an expert in the field of facial trauma and has provided lectures for the United States Army, has assisted in the design of fixation plates for facial trauma, and has incorporated advanced technology into the Miami program including navigation, intraoperative imaging, and patient-specific implants.

Josef Schweiger received vocational training as a dental technician after graduating from high school. Having worked in several dental laboratories, he has been a laboratory manager at the Department of Prosthodontics of Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich since 1999. He has been responsible for the laboratory branches of several studies on all-ceramic systems and has published numerous articles on CAD/CAM and high-performance ceramics for dental use. He is a member of the board of the German Association for Computer-Assisted Dentistry (DGCZ).

Uli Hauschild is a German dental technician who successfully runs his laboratory in Sanremo, Italy since 1985. Specialized in esthetic and functional prosthesis, he serves an international clientele and looks back on a founded scope of experience with different systems of Computer aided Implantology.

In order to share his knowledge, he gives lectures in post-graduate and master programs at the universities of Padua and Genua and also publishes in various scientific and professional journals.

Uli Hauschild has been a speaker for numerous organizations including the Computer Aided Implantology Academy (CAI), the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), the German Society of Oral Implantology (DGOI), the European Association of Dental Implantologists (EDI) and the European Association of Dental Tecnology (EADT).

He is a certified member of the International Dental Excellence Laboratory Group, Mentor of Simplant Academy and member of the board of the Cai Academy 2011/12 and obtained Fellowship and IPS mastership status of the ICOI.

Gerhard Neuendorff, MDT passed the examination for Certified Dental Technician in 1978 and obtained degree of Master Dental Technician in 1985. Gerhard Neuendorff has headed the Dr. Kirsch Dentaltechnik laboratory in Filderstadt since 1979. His main areas of interest include laboratory research and development around the IMZ implant system and the CAMLOG® implant system. His contributions have been published internationally, and he has earned an international reputation as a lecturer.

Max Bosshart has been active in further education and training for over 40 years and is well known within professional circles. Max Bosshart was a collaborator of Professor Gerber for 10 years, assisted him with the only book published by A. Gerber (Temporomandibular Joint Disorders – Diagnostics and Therapy) and is extremely familiar with the methodology. Before that, as a young technician, Max Bosshart worked in various laboratories, preferably in western Switzerland, but there only as a ceramist. It was the call of the industry which brought him to removable dentures, which he practiced holistically as a prosthodontist with a clinic and laboratory until 2017. He used the experience gained in the clinic to critically assess his own technical work in the laboratory. In the 1980s, he developed the mb cuvette–born out of necessity–and has continued its development over the last few years. With this in mind, he also developed a new and patented posterior tooth which provides improved chewing stability. Courses and lectures took him to universities, clinics and laboratories through almost all countries in Europe, North and South America, China, Japan and the Middle East.

Since 1988, Mr. Siegbert Witkowski has been working as Chief Dental Technician in the Department of Prosthodontics, University Hospital of Freiburg, School of Dentistry (Chair: Prof. Dr. B. Spies; Chair until 2016: Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. J.R. Strub). He earned his diploma in Dental Technology from an apprenticeship program in Hannover, Germany. He did postgraduate studies and gained work experience at the following institutions: University of London, Royal Dental Hospital (1983-1984); University of Zürich, School of Dentistry (1984-1986); University of Southern California, School of Dentistry (1986-1988). Mr. Witkowski was certified as a Dental Technician (CDT) by the National Board of Certification of Dental Laboratory Technology (USA) in 1986. In 1991, he earned the diploma of the German Master Dental Technician from the master school in Freiburg, Germany.

Mr. Witkowski was co-editor and -founder of the German journal „Implantologie” [Implantology] (1993-2000). For the monthly journal „Quintessenz der Zahntechnik” [Quintessence Dental Technology] also by Quintessence Publishing (Berlin, Germany) he was serving as editorial board member (1997-2000), vice editor-in-chief (2004-2006) before being appointed as editor-in-chief (2007). In 2001 he was editorial chairman of the „Internationale Zahntechnik Magazin” [International Dental Technology Magazine] published by Flohr Publ. (Rottweil, Germany). He co-authored several book chapters, a textbook for dental students “Curriculum Prothetik” (1. ed. 1994 – 5. ed. 2021), a book on implant prosthodontics „Enossale orale Implantologie aus prosthetischer Sicht“ [Endosseous implantology from the prosthodontic point of view], published in 1996 by Quintessence Publishing and numerous journal articles. In recent past, he co-authored a book on dental CAD/CAM technology together with Prof. Dr. W. Att (Tufts University, Bosten, USA) and Prof. Dr. J.R. Strub (Emeritus, Freiburg) titled “Digital Workflow in Reconstructive Dentistry” published by Quintessence Publishing (2019).

Mr. Witkowski is a member of several national and international professional organizations.

After my training in the laboratory Snay 1992, I search my path in dental technology. This I found 1996 Michael Heinz Polz and Stefan Schunke. After several years of training in the fields of aesthetics, function and milling in 2002 I did my master examination as an external at the Masters School in Nuremberg. Since 2009 I am a member of the Master Examination Committee Nuremberg. Since 2010 self-employed with my own laboratory in Fürth Germany. Since 2015 member of the oral design foundation.

Obtaining his Master’s Degree in Dental Technology in 1996, Udo Plaster is continuously on the search for a more holistic and accurate way of applying his expertise and experience with the patient as the focus. As an international lecturer and author of numerous publications, innovator of dental technologies, Plaster shares his knowledge, contributes to the improvement of interdisciplinary communication between the dentist and the dental technician and is committed to the well-being of the patients. Good communication between all 3; the patient, the dentist, the technician are essential elements for obtaining successful results.

Vincent Fehmer, MDT, received his dental technical education and degree in Stuttgart, Germany, before completing fellowships in Great Britain and the United States in Oral Design–certified dental technical laboratories. After working several years in such a laboratory in Berlin, he received his MDT degree and became the chief dental technician at the Clinic for Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics in Zurich, Switzerland. Since 2015, he has been a dental technician at the Clinic for Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials in Geneva, Switzerland. He also runs his own laboratory in Lausanne. Mr Fehmer is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology, an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED), and a member of the Oral Design group as well as the European Association of Dental Technology (EADT) and the German Society of Esthetic Dentistry (DGÄZ). He is a sought-after international speaker and has received many honors for his work, including the Kenneth Rudd Award from the American Prosthodontic Society. He has published more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals within the field of fixed prosthodontics and digital dental technology, contributed to many books, and recently coauthored the book Fixed Restorations: A Clinical Guide to the Selection of Materials and Fabrication Technology with Irena Sailer and Bjarni Pjetursson. Mr Fehmer also serves as Editor-in-Chief for the International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry, Section Editor for the International Journal of Prosthodontics, and co-chair for the 26th International Symposium on Ceramics (June 2023).

Volker Weber, MDT graduated as Certified Dental Technician in 1987. From 1988 to 2009, he worked closely with the Department of Prosthodontics of RWTH Aachen University (Director: Professor Hubertus Spiekermann), especially in the field of oral implantology with special emphasis on the use of different implant systems. This cooperation intensified when he joined the Impladent dental laboratory at Aachen in 1992. In 1994 he passed the examination for Master Dental Technician in Cologne. Since 2005 he has been a consultant on implant-supported restorations for various institutions and has published articles on implant-supported superstructures. Since 2009 he has been continuing his cooperation with the Department of Prosthodontics, Oral Implantology and Biomaterials of RWTH Aachen University (Director: Professor Stefan Wolfart).
