From 1980 to 1994, alongside his work in a group dental practice, he served as a lecturer at the University of Tübingen in the fields of prosthodontics, periodontology, and occlusion. Numerous publications document his primary focus on periodontology, in which he is recognized as a specialist of the German Society of Periodontology (DG PARO). For 20 years, he directed a practical course in dental hygiene to help address the shortage of dental hygienists in his region.
