$900 – $2263.636364

One-off, Exclusive Event in Australia & New Zealand
For the first time since 2018, Pascal Magne will be back Down-under discussing the the fundamentals of Biomimetic Restorative Dentistry (BRD) in this exclusive 2-day Lecture.
100 First Release Tickets Available at Special Price
The lecture will include:
- Differentiating your practice through the integration of Original BRD principles to assure patients the long-term preservation of their teeth
- Helping your patients understand why the original BRD is the “right” way because it is based on mimicking the natural dentition in its biology, function, mechanics and esthetics.
- Making wise choices in material, products, devices, technology and integrating the right methods to faithfully apply BRD in your practice.
Full Scientific Program
Day 1 – Friday 10th April
Morning Session 1 – Biomechanics/Biomaterials:
- Classification, mechanical properties and selection of composite resins, “hybrids”, ceramics, CAD/CAM blocks,
- Introducing short-fiber reinforced composites for bio-bases, dentin-replacement and build-ups.
Morning Session 2 – Adhesives and direct preparations design:
- How to select the proper adhesive strategy for long-term success, foundations of dentin hybridization and IMMEDIATE DENTIN SEALING (IDS)
- Visual aids and magnification.
- Caries detection and caries removal endpoints.
- Armamentarium and tooth preparation principles for anterior and posterior direct resin composites.
Afternoon Session 1 – Semi-(in)direct preparation design:
- Preparations principles based on stress distribution, inlay vs. onlays.
- Occlusal veneers in posterior teeth: “vonlays”, “veneerlays”, “crownlays, and endocrowns.
Mockup-driven anterior veneer preparation step-by-step.
Afternoon Session 2 – Light polymerization and shrinkage:
- Basics of polymerization and light curing.
- Unrestricted vs. restricted shrinkage.
- Myth and facts about shrinkage-induced stresses.
- V-factor (volume) vs. C-factor (configuration).
- Stress-reduced approaches in direct posterior resin composites.
- Stress visualization through the tube-test.
Day 2 – Saturday 11th April
Morning Session 1 – Luting/Delivery Procedures:
- Choice of resin cements: nominal cements vs. preheated restorative
- Try-in procedures, management of cracked restorations
- Resin composite and ceramic conditioning: chemical and micromechanical bonding though abrasion, etching and silane coupling/ Silane chemistry
- Step-by-step delivery of ceramic veneers and CAD/CAM inlays/onlays
- Post-bonding crack repair by resin-infiltration.
Morning Session 2 – Layering techniques:
- Principles of “sandwich” and bilaminar layering techniques
- Fragment bonding
- Principle of additive layering for optimal esthetics and mechanics
- Freehand vs. guided natural layering in anterior teeth
- Surface texture and finishing
- Bilaminar shade guides and simplified shade selection.
Afternoon Session 1 – CAD/CAM techniques:
- Semi-direct vs. semi-indirect restorations
- Cutback and microlayering with resin composite CAD/CAM
- Cutback and microlayering with e.max CAD: partial vs. total cutback, masking
- Workflow using Dentofacial Digital Diagnostic, Wax-up, Mockup and Biocopy
- Double-milling and natural restoration using extracted teeth
Afternoon Session 2 – Clinical outcomes:
- Maintenance and repairs in BRD
- DEEP MARGIN ELEVATION – DME
- Success rates and clinical studies, pros and cons of clinical research vs. in-vitro research. Long-term follow-ups and conclusions.
